I will admit to being a bit skeptical about purchasing shoes over the internet. I am a visual person, so I always like to know how something is going to look on me before buying. ( I hate having to deal with returning/shipping items as well)

I had checked out some department stores and some other shops at the mall. I did go to Steve Madden at the mall, and I saw these boots and wanted to try them on, but sadly they did not have my size. They were exactly what I was on the hunt for. A simple, classy and stylish boot that would not kill my feet if I were to wear them all day. So imagine my heartbreak when yet again my long size 10 feet were turned away.

I decided to try Amazon, since I had some luck in the past finding items on here, though shoe wear was never something I thought I’d buy on this site…….well I am so glad I did because not only was my size available, I got them for .00 cheaper!! Even better! (Free shipping too!:)

These boots are heaven to my feet. I love the length, (I have longer legs so I was worried where these would exactly fall on me, they fall just below my knee) I like the slight “positioned” slouch they have to them. These boots do not “pull down” when you walk in them, they stay put. With my previous pair of knee length boots I was always having to pull them up as they would “fall” after a bit. These don’t do that.

They are very comfortable to walk and be in. They are simple yet so stylish! I like the flat heel, it really makes for a comfortable fit. I have some high heeled boots, but after so long, your feet start screaming for a break. You’ll wear these all day without any tears.

I also recommend getting a suede protector spray, I got these in black, and with most suede boots, it will pick up dirt….you’re going to want protect these lovely boots for as long as you can!

Though I normally wear a size 6, I first got these in a 6.5 to be safe. They were too big, and one boot had a larger circumference than the other, so the looser one kept slipping down… Amazon has excellent customer service, so I was able to send them back as defective and order another pair (this was Thanksgiving so I also got a 30% off)

These boots are very well-made, they’re so soft and comfortable! They’re also really warm so I’m hoping they’ll keep me nice and comfy through the winter. The real suede is really nice so I sprayed it with suede protector. Highly recommend these!

Okay my apologies for the cheesy pun, couldn’t help myself.

Lets get to the point, these boots are FAB! I have them in brown and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE them! They slip on so smoothly, they are SO comfortable to walk and be in.

Overall I really just dig the “riding” boot look. These boots look great with jeans, a skirt, (short or long, in fact I can’t wait to pair them up with some sweater tights!) they just compliment your outfit so nicely. They have a lovely rustic and timeless appeal to them.

They fall right at my knee, (I’m 5’6) fit true to size (I wear a 10M) and they are very well made. I wore these boots around my house the night I got them and did not want to take them off. This is why Autumn is even more wonderful, you get to showcase boots like these! Hard to imagine anyone being dissapointed with these babies!

I have these shoes and I absolutely love the style of them. I have received many compliments on them … only one problem. Terrible quality shoes!!!! They scuff soo easily in the light brown or cognac color they sell them in. I have worn these shoes for 3 weeks and they are scuffed up already like I’ve had them for much longer. The leather is cheap!!!! I would love to buy these in black because I think maybe that leather might not look as horrible with the wear … but I am afraid to because of my experience with these. I know these shoes are not that expensive and sadly I am considering staying away from anymore madden boots. My mother has a pair of Frye boots she had since she was in her 20′s and now my mom is 50 and I am in my 20s …. those boots still look practically new and have now been passed down to me! Please please please do yourself a favor and spend the 300 on some classic boots that will last you forever. It may seem ridiculous now, but when you’ve had the boots for years and they still look great you won’t mind that you paid a little extra.

I bought both the cognac and black in these boots because they look so cute. I wanted flat slouchy leather boots that were not suede (which were surprisingly hard to find). While I love the colors and the look of the boot, the leather quality is not so good. It actually squeaks when the shaft moves or rubs on itself. Also, these suckers run small. I’m usually a 9, and I always get steve madden boots in a 9.5 so there’s room for socks (I wear athletic socks with all my boots). I got these in a 9.5 and my toes were a bit squished, they were fine without the socks.

The shaft of the boots are a good size. They fit well with leggings or bare skin. I haven’t tried them with skinny jeans yet, but it seems like there will be no problem.

They were too cute to not wear and I was too impatient to wait and exchange them for a larger size, so I’m hoping they’ll break in and fit better as well as lose the squeak. So because of the size and the squeak, I had to knock off two stars.

Update: To clarify, the brown boots are squeaky. I finally broke out the black boots and they make crunchy noises when the leather has to move when you bend your ankle. It’s just odd that these are the only two pairs of boots I have that make noise. I just wish Steve Madden made these with higher quality leather and materials in the shaft. I’ve been wearing the brown ones for a few weeks now, and I’m still hoping and waiting for the squeak to go away.

While it is still a bit too warm to wear these boots(I bought the black), they do feel good on my (somewhat) narrow feet. The crinkled leather texture was a bit of a surprise to me, but overall, these will be a favorite for me once they are broken in properly in cooler weather.

i got these in both the blue and the black suede, and i love them both! These heels are five inches but the platform is at least an inch, so they feel like four inch heels. Granted, that might still be a bit much for the uninitiated, but i’d recommend looking more closely at the platform itself: There is a definate thinning of the platform towards the toes, while the platform is thicker towards the rear of the ball of your foot. This helps your feet to sort of “roll along” as you walk along, and imho, it is a very big improvement in design.

So, you can always get a gel insert to make these even more comfy, but, you might find they’re o.k. without it. i usually do use a gel insert, just because i like things to be as comfy as possible.

Anyway, these pumps are very sophisticated and sexi, and they look fabulous with so much. i love the rounded toe, and both my black pair and my blue pair are great to wear with jeans. My black pair looks great with both blue denim and black leather miniskirts, and the list goes on.

These are great shoes, i find them to be a great addition to my wardrobe.

I just received these in the black patent, and I love them! Super stylish, and I love the tall, super thin stiletto. These shoes look like they could easily cost 0 or more, and people have actually asked me if they were by a few different luxury designers.

Don’t let the 5 inch heel fool you – with the platform in the bed they are closer to 4 inches, so they aren’t difficult to walk in if you are accustomed to stilettos.

I am disappointed that they are not real leather. Usually Steve Madden shoes are real leather, and he only uses faux leather for his “Madden Girl” line, so I was suprised to see that they are synthetic.

One thing I love about Steve Madden is that his sizes are very consistent. You won’t vary in size in sandals, boots, etc. and these are no different. I am an exact size 8, so I was able to order these shoes without needing to try them on in a store.

HOWEVER, I just wore them out for the first time and the black patent finish flaked off in several places! Small bits, and easy enough to touch up with a Sharpie, but I’ve never had this happen before. And it certainly shouldn’t happen with a quality pair of shoes.

It’s unfortunate that they are poorly made – they are so beautiful! And I would actually still recommend purchasing them, just not in the patent leather. I hope you have better luck with them than I did!

I LOVE the design (very pretty on!) and comfort of this shoe – it is so comfortable and VERY easy to walk in. The only critisim I have is the quality of the sole & base. It has glue all over the “roped” platform, and is nothing like the clean looking ones in the photos! Perhaps I got a bad pair? Still look great though!
